Marriage Equality

I've always thought it strange that Republicans, who are supposed to be about reducing government and getting it out of our affairs, are set on adding language to the Constitution that limits who we can legally fuck. Isn't that what Marriage is traditionally about? Who you acknowledge to the whole community that you're fucking? So why the hell do Republicans, or anyone else, care? Marriage in general is good for the economy, so why not let more people marry? Oh, maybe it's not as good for the economy as War, so never mind... Hey, no matter where you fall on the spectrum, granting same-sex couples the same legal rights to marriage as different-sex couples is just a matter of time. We're way behind the rest of the "civilized" world on this. Let's be sure to get the vote out in November and get the government out of our lives AND out of our pants!

And why are even queers upset about new businesses catering to queer people getting married? Sites like MyQueerWedding.com are there to help legitimize same-sex marriage by helping the new queer wedding business segment thrive. Yeah, yeah, you don't like the commercialization -- I don't always like it either. But business is not inherently bad -- it's just a form of social networking that can be constructive when entered into with the right mind set. Right now businesses thriving from same-sex marriages is a good thing.
